Hinata was starting to think that listening to Kiba was a profoundly bad idea. Listening to him was what had her sitting across from Gaara, with only a plate of fried vegetables between them. She comforted herself with the fact that Kiba couldn’t have possibly known that Gaara would be here, or that he would sit down with her. And now that he was there, he was just sitting there staring at her and not saying anything.

“I told you this was a bad idea.”
“It’s not my fault your brother doesn’t know what to do with a girl.”

“You are very… nice.”
Hinata nearly choked.

“Oh man, I think him not talking was better.”

“Thank you…?” Hinata said tentatively.
Gaara continued to watch her with far too intense eyes, making Hinata blush and squirm.
