“Step away from the keys, Tennyson,” Kevin drawled, a slight smirk rising to his lips as Ben let out a startled squeak. He slipped out of the shadows and slid the key ring around his finger, waggling it at the green eyed boy. “You know the deal.”
“I was just gonna listen to the radio,” Ben protested, doing his best to look innocent. “WKAT’s doing concert ticket giveaways and I can’t pick it up at home, and the Rustbucket keeps switching to,” he shuddered dramatically, “Shag Carpet.”
Kevin looked at the keys spinning around his finger. “What’s in it for me?”
“I’ll wax the car.”
“You don’t get to touch the car,” Kevin corrected. “The last time you did, I was pounding dents out for a week.”
“I’ll get Gwen to wax the car,” Ben said desperately.
“Tempting…” Kevin mused. “But she’d never go for it.”
“I’ll be your personal slave for a month.”
“Two months,” Kevin corrected. Ben didn’t even hesitate; he just nodded, and Kevin reached through the window, starting the car and changing the radio to the right station, a smirk gracing his features that would have sent chills of the spines of many a person.
