For Rosetta, being Ladyhawk felt more real than her civilian life ever had. Putting on the costume felt like she was shedding a too-small skin. Or maybe like she was shedding her past, and her father’s dark legacy.
Regina was worried, she knew, but that was what Regina did. She thought about everything way too much. She thought Rosetta should cut back on the super-heroics, especially after what had happened, but Rosetta knew that she couldn’t live without the thrill of the night.
Regina just didn’t get it. She never had, even when they’d both still been active as Ladyhawk.
