Summary: Megan doesn’t want to be left alone in the dark.

“Stay with me,” Megan whispered desperately, clinging to Nezhno’s arm. She looked up at him, those strange dark eyes filled with terror of the dark, and of what lurked there. Silently, he removed her hand from his arm.
“Keep your sword ready,” he said, “and follow me. And do not speak.”
Nezhno doubted that Megan’s silence would last more than a few moments, but he would value that brief respite from the chatter.
The glow of Megan’s soulsword did little to cut through the darkness they found themselves caught in. The silence, to Nezhno’s surprise, stretched onward until it was almost as suffocating as the darkness.
“We will get out of here,” Nezhno said.
“Promise?”
“Yes.”
