"So." Paige Guthrie said, scratching the back of her head. "You're looking-"

"Bugger. Off."

Paige blinked, drawing back slightly. "Jono, I-"

"Not in the mood, Paige," Jono said, holding up a finger. "Clearly, nobody was listening when I said I wanted to be left alone." He leaned across the table, until he was nose to nose with the blonde. "So let me make this clear: I'm done. No more, the end, goodbye and good riddance."

"Jono, all I'm asking is you listen."

Jono got to his feet, brown hair falling in his eyes. "I'm tired, Paige. There's nothing there for me anymore."

"We're your friends."

"Angelo was my friend. Everett was my friend. Jubilee was my friend. None of them are there anymore."

"I'm your friend."

"It's over, sunshine," Jono said. "Time to move on."
