Title: Match part 4
Characters: Hyuuga Hinata, Gaara, Temari
Prompt: 39. Silk Kimono
Word Count: 389
Rating: PG
Summary: She doesn't notice any difference yet.
Author's Notes: A bit of a stylistic shift for me in the Match Series. The original three stories were originally one much longer story that I cut up because of my limited computer time. We're finally on material that was originally Match pt. 2. What this means is that the rest of the Match series will be more in line with my usual style: Short, loosely connected stories.
Disclaimer: I own NOTHING!

Hinata smoothed her hands over the lavender silk of her kimono, watching herself in the mirror. She tried to see some change in herself that might have been wrought by her marriage, but she didn’t look any different now than she had when she had left Konoha.

Suna had yet to leave it’s mark on her. She had only been there three days.

The festival celebrating the Kazekage’s wedding had been going on since they had arrived, and was looking to continue for several days more.

And naturally, the Kazekage and his bride were expected to put on an appearance during the festivities.

In fact, those appearances had been the only times Hinata had seen Gaara since they had arrived in Sunagakure. It was almost like he was avoiding her.

She tugged gently on her obi, stepped into her slippers, and hurried out of the strangely rounded room and down the oddly rounded hall to the balcony of the Kazekage’s palace.

She wasn’t sure she would ever get used to the way the buildings were designed here, full of soft curves and not a corner to be found, and the windows that didn’t open. And there was the ever present sand, which got into everything

Gaara was waiting at the balcony doors, looking cool and unflappable. He glanced at her and gave a small, approving nod. The sand pulled the doors open, and Hinata stepped onto the balcony. She felt Gaara’s hand come to rest lightly on the small of her back and darted a glance at the red haired shinobi. She found him watching her out of the corner of his eye.

The crowd of revelers cheered as the Kazekage and the Hyuuga scion stepped into view, and both waved automatically.

When they were done, Gaara would return to his office, and Hinata would be left to entertain herself.

Just like every time before.

To say Gaara was surprised to find his office door locked would have been something of an understatement. He regarded the locked door a for a long moment, then knocked.

“We’re closed!” Temari shouted through the door. “The Kazekage is going to enjoy the festival with his bride!”

“Temari…” Gaara growled warningly.

“The Kazekage,” Temari repeated with a hint of an answering growl, “is going to enjoy the festival with his new bride!”
