Megan twisted her arm this way and that, watching the light catch on the jungle scene etched into the silvery bangle. She could just make out a panther hidden in the jungle, visible only when she twisted it just so. “Oh, I love it!” she squealed, wrapping her arms around Nezhno’s neck. He looked surprised and slightly appalled by this show of affection. Megan noted the look and pouted. “You know I’m a hugger,” she reminded him.
“And yet, it still manages to surprise me,” he replied, his tone dry as autumn leaves as he straightened to his full height. Megan continued to cling to his neck, leaving her feet gangling several inches above the floor. “Comfortable?”
“I’m good.” She hovered a bit higher, wings flapping slowly as she rose to Nezhno’s eye level. “I love it.”
“Of course you do. It is shiny.”
“You are so sarcastic, you know that?”
