“I don’t know how helpful this would be,” Bobby said as Christian prodded the lump forming under his once perfect abs, “but my father was in a magic induced coma until I was born.”
“Aren’t Skrulls egg layers?” Christian asked.
“Oh, they are,” Bobby said, “but my Pop was the one who had me, not my Dad. It’s complicated and not something he liked talking about, but I’ll see if he can’t shed something light on what’s happening to you.” He made a thoughtful noise. “You don’t think Hyphenated Guthrie is secretly part Skrull, do you?”
“He couldn’t be… could he?”
“Well,” Bobby mused, “Skrulls have been running around this planet for ages, interbreeding with humans. It’s not near as uncommon to be part alien as most people think.”
“Well, isn’t that just great,” Christian said flatly.
