“Torus, what are you doing?”
Torus yelped and shifted back to his normal shape before whirling around to face Franklin. “What are you doing?” he squeaked, clearly embarrassed. “Don’t you knock?”
Franklin jerked his thumb over his shoulder. “Dinner’s ready. What were you doing?” he asked, though it was pretty clear from the look on his face that he knew exactly what his cousin was doing, and didn’t mind twisting the knife at all.
“Nothing!” Torus insisted quickly.”
“It didn’t look like nothing,” Franklin said, grinning. “It looked like-”
“Don’t tell Mom!” Torus begged, making his eyes go wider than they really should have gone, a look that his father had dubbed ‘Sad and Abused Puppy’. “She’d completely lose it if she knew.”
“Okay, okay, my lips are sealed, just stop looking at me like that.” Franklin said, holding his hands up in a warding gesture. “Just… don’t go out like that, or your mom will kill us both.”
