“He’s got a cute smile,” Megan whispered to Victor, nodding her head in the direction of Amadeus Cho. “Go talk to him.”
Victor rolled his eyes. “You go talk to him if you think he’s cute.”
“I’m not the one he keeps looking at,” Megan replied.
“He probably just thinks I look weird,” Victor sighed. “Lots of people stare at me.”
“That wasn’t a ‘you look weird’ look,” Megan insisted. “Really! It was more like a ‘I wonder what you look like naked’ look.”
“One: those are words I really never wanna hear from you again. Two… you really think so?” Victor asked tentatively, sneaking a glance at Amadeus. The other boy had been looking at him, and when he noticed Victor’s attention, had quickly looked away.
“Go talk to him.”
Victor felt his face getting hot. “Maybe.”
