Summary: She wonders if Jude is happy where he is.

Max sat in the surprisingly uncomfortable chair in the hotel’s conference room and watched the little boy, Jude, get trotted out to perform like a trained pet. She found her mind drifting back to her own early years, living as just some thing, something to be molded into a perfect soldier, not a person in her own right at all.
She wondered if he was happy, or if he even know that there was any other kind of life out there. Did Doctor Tanaka love him, treat him like a person? Or was Jude just a means to an end to him?
She wished she knew. A part of her, the part that believed in miracles, the part she rarely listened to and often pretended didn’t exist, hoped that Jude was loved.
