Summary: In which a new member of the Shepard family comes into the world.
Authors Notes/Disclaimer: I don’t own Tommy or Nico. Ray-Ray’s mine, though.
“I don’t think I can do this,” Ray-Ray whimpered, squeezing her father’s hand tightly. Tommy pressed a kiss to her sweat soaked hair.
“You’re doing great, sweetie,” Tommy assured her. “You’re almost done.”
“Why couldn’t I be an egg layer?” the speedster whined. “It hurts and they won’t give me drugs!”
“It’s okay,” Tommy said over and over, even as his daughter screamed, holding her hand tightly as the doctor encouraged her to push. They’d denied her drugs because her speedster metabolism would have burned right through them before they would have done her any good. “You’re doing great, it’s okay.”
“I see the head!” Nico announced. “Oh my God…”
Ray-Ray sobbed and swore at super speed, her father reassuring her all the while.
Despite her protests otherwise, the birth was surprisingly easy.
“He looks like a bloody monkey,” Tommy told Ray-Ray.
“He’s beautiful and he’s perfect,” Nico snapped back.
“Bloody monkey” Ray-Ray whimpered.
“Bloody monkey. And he’s bald. And weird looking.”
Ray-Ray laughed weakly. “Pictures!” she encouraged. “Take pictures!”
