Eliza Kadija leaned back in the computer chair, looking up at her grandmother. “See? Easy.”
“I don’t like it,” Rowena said grumpily.
“You don’t like anything made after the fifties. Just think of all the new spells you could pick up! And just think of all the spell components vendors, suddenly at your finger tips. No more scouring the globe for bargains, because they’re right there!” she said enthusiastically. “You love a bargain.”
“I like dealing with people face to face,” Rowena reminded his granddaughter.
“You like scaring people,” Eliza countered.
“Only a little,” the old woman admitted. “But there is another problem. Remember what keeps happening to those cell phones you all keep pushing on me?”
Eliza spun her chair around, pushing her glasses back up her nose with her finger. “Oh come on. So you melted a couple of phones.”
“Walking tech bane, my little love. I shall leave the future to you.”
