To be honest, Kevin didn’t even like Josh. At all. The golden boy was – had been – smugly arrogant and self assured in a way that put would have put Kevin’s teeth on edge even if Laurie hadn’t been so desperately in love with him.

But that had changed.

Kevin had left when he’d hurt Laurie, and he’d come back when he’d finally learned that Laurie was dead. He came back too late to even attend the funeral, and he’d found that Josh had become… strange.

Strange enough to kiss Kevin.

To be honest, the kiss felt like some kind of apology, though only God knew what Josh was apologizing for. They’d never liked each other. There was no way they could have been friends, even if they weren’t enemies.

Kevin wasn’t sure what they were, anymore.
