“I give it two minutes before she starts throwing things,” Lance said, giving Toad a pitying look as the sallow skinned boy began reciting the works of Shakespeare at Wanda. It would have been funny if it weren’t so damn sad. The worst part was that he couldn’t even keep the lines straight. He kept switching between plays and mangling the words.
Toad was partly through the famous Balcony Scene when the glass shattered against the wall, right where his head had been just seconds before.
“Aw, c’mon cuddlebumps!”
