“Ungrateful, worthless, irritating-’ Xavin growled and paced, occasionally pausing to swear in Skrullos as she ranted about the lack of gratitude the Majesdane let Xavin rant, not bothering to point out that at least they acknowledged Xavin’s existence. Except for the one boy, the Majesdanes acted like Karolina wasn’t even there.
“They don’t want our help,” she finally said when Xavin paused for breath, “and we can’t make them take it.”
“All I wanted was peace, beloved. And they treat me like I, personally, destroyed their home.”
Karolina just shrugged, sighing sadly.
