Xavin held still as Karolina barely concealed the full extent of her annoyance. “And what lead you to think that getting into a fight with that sand girl from the X-Men was a good idea?”
“It is complicated,” Xavin said grumpily.
“You’re covered in mud.”
“It was necessary,” Xavin insisted. “I had my reasons, beloved.” She spat and made a face. “My mouth is gritty. I believe I am in need of some Starbucks.”
“Why won’t you tell me why you did this?”
“Because it is also embarrassing,” Xavin admitted.
