Karolina shut the door behind her and let out a startled gasp when Xavin suddenly appeared, eyes on the door and a distant look on her face. “You were in there for a long time.”
“Nico needed someone to talk to,” Karolina replied, tucking her hair behind her ear and dropping her gaze to the floor. “She went through a lot, you know.”
“I am sure there are others who could comfort her.” The Skrull made a face, and Karolina rolled her eyes with a small laugh.
“Honey, don’t. You know how I feel about you. Nico just needed someone she could trust, to help her deal with what happened and to start her on the right path towards healing.”
