Author's Notes: I own nothing. Not even the idea. I shamelessly stole it from
gaymuffin. For the record, Nicholas=Nico, Victoria=Victor, Mikey=Molly, Shannon=Chase. Xavin is, as always, Xavin. And Karolina’s counterpart? You’ll see.
Xavin was familiar with the idea of alternate universes, in a vague way. There were places where the wall between realities was as thin as paper, and the Empire had occasionally explored and exploited such places.
“It is amazing that Nicholas has not gotten them all killed.”
“Yes, that would be Nico’s counterpart?” Xavin asked, watching the two spellcasters consult with each other. Chase was bewailing the fact that Victor’s counterpart, the unsurprisingly named Victoria, was “all kinds of hotness!”, which was apparently too much for him to take. Molly and Mikey were discussing the differences between their respective favorite television shows, and Shannon was openly ogling Victor, much to everyone’s discomfort.
And a little ways off, Karolina and her counterpart were talking quietly. His name, Xavin knew, was James – something Karolina had found highly amusing.
Xavin put it down to one of those things he just didn’t get.
