There was a pile of hamburgers sitting between Xavin and Chase. Their eyes met briefly before they both reached for the pile. “It’s been too long since I’ve had meat,” Xavin admitted with a sigh, taking a huge bit. “Delicious.”
“God bless In-And-Out Burgers,” Chase agreed with a little groan around a mouthful of half-chewed hamburger.
“Not that Karolina is not an excellent cook, when she chooses to provide the meal,” Xavin added quickly.
“But sometimes you just gotta have meat.” Chase nodded sagely.
