Summary: It’s not the best hiding place.
Author's Notes: Part of my Refugee series.
“I can’t believe I did that,” the young mutant – who had introduced himself to Xavin and Karolina as Victor – said, still breathing heavily. “Your invisibility thing’s still going, right?”
“We are undetectable to anything that the Majesdanes would have,” Xavin stated, watching the Majesdane boy who had come with them. He returned the Skrull’s gaze with a hard, angry look for a few moments before turning his head away. “We should be safe for the time being. Do either of you care to explain what is going on?”
Victor looked at the Majesdane, then at Karolina and Xavin. “Jassayn told me what was going on, and that he thought you guys might be in trouble. My car’s on the highway, that way. Once the search dies down, we can make a run for it.
“If they don’t trash it when they find it,” Karolina said.
“They will be watching for flight of any kind,” Jassayn said. “Not even your invisibility can hide you completely in the air.”
“If I’m not back soon, my teachers are gonna come looking for me,” Victor said. “They know where I went. Unfortunately, I lost my phone during the fight.” He looked at Jassayn. “We should have brought my friends.”
“We did not have time to waste arguing with them.”
“I can keep the invisibility around us as we move. We can keep to the ground,” Xavin said.
