Fox rarely thinks about Jeannine anymore. She is far removed from that quiet creature who lurked in the corners of her father’s office, always watching and listening, and even farther removed from the sullen teenager with the bad skin, a worse dye job, and too much make-up.
Fox is a woman of her own creation. Everything she is, she made. She almost never sees Jeannine in the mirror anymore.
Jeannine is dead to everyone bit her father, and when the old fox is gone, there will be nothing left of her.
