Nate closed his eyes as Hal combed his fingers through his hair. “I’m needed up on the Viewpoint.”
“Hydra Hair will have to go through me if she wants you back up there any time soon,” Hal replied. “This is a family time.”
“I don’t do ‘family time’, babe.” Nate raised his head from Hal’s lap. “And she knows that. The Shi’ar are going to be out for blood. My blood.”
“Over my dead body,” Hal growled.
“I’m tired of people I love dying, Hally.” Nate reached up, caressing Hal’s cheek. “I’m so tired.”
“Go to sleep, Nate. I’ll be here when you wake up.”
