“You, you-!” Spider-Girl stood before Darkdevil, her entire body ridged with indignation. “You insufferable, arrogant jerk!” For a moment, her hand raised as if she was going to slap him. Instead, she let out a shriek of pure teenage rage and stormed away. Dormagus watched it all with a small, amused grin.
Darkdevil shot him a dark glare, and Dormagus kept right on grinning. “If it was me,” the wizard pointed out smoothly, “I’d have turned you in to a toad for that stunt back there.”
“It’s for her own good,” Darkdevil said sullenly.
“Yeah, sure. Keep telling yourself that. Meanwhile, the person we really need to get home because she’s the only one that can actually go in to the room with the portal is walking away.”
Darkdevl spun around to watch Spider-Girl’s angry retreat. She had managed to cover a lot of ground in the last few moments. “Oh damn.”
“I’d suggest catching up with her and apologizing. Oh, and grovel.”
“Thank you, Captain Obvious. Never could have worked that out on my own.”
