Nezhno didn’t realize what Victor was up to until after the cell phone in his hand made a little noise. “What did you do?”

“Took your picture,” Victor said in a distracted way. “And now I’m setting it as my wallpaper.”

Nezhno didn’t even bother to hide his puzzlement. “Why would you do that?”

Victor finally looked up from his phone. “Because I got you to actually smile. Now, what do you think the chances of you ever doing that again are? Santo says that you’ll smile on the 12th of Never.”

Nezhno felt heat rising to his face, and Victor started playing with his phone again. “And now I’m sending it to Megan, just so someone else has proof that you can smile.” He smirked. “She’s never gonna leave you alone until you do it for her.”
