Summary: Stormer finds herself a little big disturbed.

The coffee appeared at Techrat’s elbow, silently and without disturbing the strange man as he worked. Minx settled next to him on the bench, tea clasped in her own slender hands. Techrat picked up the paper cup of coffee and drained it without looking away from the keytar laid out before him. The cup was quickly put aside, and the soldering iron was taken back up.
In her corner, far from Techrat and Minx, Stormer watched all that and wondered if maybe she’d fallen down the rabbit hole. The Techrat she knew would have been throwing things and shrieking at her if she’d dared to come that close; she knew that from personal experience. The only reason Stormer was still in Techrat’s lair in the first place was because he’d said the repairs would be done quickly, and it would be faster to just take her instrument and go as soon as it was done than wait for him to bring it to her.
But the leggy German sat next to Techrat as of it were the most natural thing in the world. It wasn’t that Techrat hadn’t noticed her -- Minx was murmuring the occasional comment, and Techrat always replied. And not with a yell or a whine, either. It was like they were two normal people instead of an international pop star and… Techrat.
On the whole, the scene might have been the single creepiest thing Stormer had ever seen.
Finally, Minx rose to her feet, giving Stormer a dismissive look as she left. Techrat continued to work on the keytar, ignoring her, until…
“It’s done.”
“Oh thank God,” Stormer whispered.
