“Your association with this human is beneath you, Princess,” the leader of the Genetic Council said. Surdani didn’t know his name, and couldn’t be bothered to learn it. “Bad enough your younger brother is a disgrace, and Ahura is…” The man paused, noting Surdani’s dark look. “You must think of your station, Highness.”
She raked the Inhuman with her eyes and sniffed pointedly. She would not waste words on him.
“I will not be ignored, girl!” he hissed, reaching for her arm. Surdani grabbed his wrist, shifted her weight, and let his own momentum carry him into the wall.
“Surdani, sweetest flower of our people, are you beating up old men?” Dramari asked, sweeping into the room. “For shame. What would Father say?” He helped the man back to his feet, brushing him off. “Off you go, tat a, don’t be a stranger, alright?”
The poor man never noticed his jewelry disappearing.
