“I’m faster than you,” Aiden whispered, his blue eyes wide as he looked at his older brother, who had lagged behind him for the last twenty seconds (a lifetime, to a speedster). “I’m faster than you.”
“I tripped,” Gabriel hissed, coming to a stop beside his brother, green dyed hair falling in his face. “That’s all. Don’t get any ideas.”
“Bullshit!” Aiden crowed. “I outran you! I’m the fastest man alive!”
Gabe caught his little brother in a headlock. “You are not and if you say any of this to anyone I’ll burn all your hair off!” he growled, digging his knuckles into Aiden’s skull.
“I’ll still be faster than you!” Aiden howled as Gabe continued to dig his knuckles into his brother’s white streaked hair. “Let go, you bastard!”
“Not until you admit I’m faster!”
“Never! Never never never never never never!” Aiden twisted and squirmed, screaming his triumph over his brother to the winds.
