Rating: PG

Summary: In which Nezhno tries to have a conversation, and Laura isn’t exactly helpful.
Authors Notes/Disclaimer: I own nothing. Sequel to The Right Thing.
Laura looked at Nezhno with her odd, assessing gaze as Nezhno tried to see where Megan was through the opening in the door.
“I’m not talking to him!” the pink haired girl announced, loudly enough for Nezhno to hear her.
“She’s not talking to you,” Laura said helpfully.
“Santo says he’s going to kill me if I, and I quote, don’t do the right thing,” Nezho said, trying to peer around Laura. He could just barely see Megan, sprawled on a bunk, her head resting on Hisako’s lap.
“Good!” Megan called.
“It seems Megan approves,” Laura noted.
“So I see.”
“Shut the door!”
Laura started shutting the door, but Nezhno thrust his hand out, stopping it. Laura looked at the hand, clearly considering shutting the door on it. “I would like to talk to Megan without an intermediary, please.”
Laura turned to Megan. “He wants to talk to you.”
“I don’t want to see him!”
“She doesn’t want to see you.”
Nezhno took a deep breath and started to say something, then stopped and sighed. “I will come back later. Hopefully, you will be gone then.”
