Janet Stien very patiently watched her husband as he proudly displayed the hideously yellow VW Minibus. He looked at her, grinning like a five year old who had gotten the pony he'd been wishing for all year. “Well?” he said.
“It's hideous,” she replied bluntly. “That is one of the ugliest things I have ever seen. Why is it in my garage.”
Victor's smile grew wider. “I'm going to make it better,” he said.
“Like the toaster?” Janet asked dryly. “You remember the toaster, right? Remember how it tried to make Robert it's bride?”
“Yeah,” Victor said with a happy little sigh. “That was great.”
“Except for the part where it rained frogs in the kitchen for a week afterwards. And then there was the flying pink badger. God, do you honestly not remember having to clean up the badger shit?”
“This won't be anything like that,” the scientist hastened to assure his wife.
“Alright, let's say I believe you. What were you planning to do?”
“Well, I was going to start with lasers...”
