He knew, even as he tried to stand up after the brutal beating he’d taken at the hands of the cloned Thor, that he wasn’t going to be able to deal with Thor Girl. It was just too… painful. He had too man associations with the Skrull who had pretended to be her. He couldn’t counsel her – God, he could barely even talk to her.
He’d have to make it perfectly clear when he saw her. Make a clean break of it. It would be less painful for both of them that way. Terry just had to keep reminding himself that this was not the girl he’d known.
It was for the best.
