Ursa tells herself that what she did was the only thing she could do. With a single death, she has insured her son’s future. He will be safe.
As she leaves, this thought offers her little comfort.
She is disgusted with herself. She knows that if it had been Azula sentenced to die for Ozai’s ambitions, she would have protested… but she would not have killed Azulon.
Not to protect the monster that she had born.
But who would protect Zuko now?
