“Okay,” Karolina sighed, “what’s wrong?”
“Nothing,” Xavin replied innocently. “What makes you say that something is wrong, my love?”
Karolina gave Xavin a narrow eyed look, running her tongue over her teeth as the picked her words carefully. “You’ve been acting weird,” she said. “Either you’re planning something, or something’s wrong. I’m pretty sure you aren’t planning something, because you’d be more smug, so…”
“I assure you,” Xavin said, “that everything is perfectly fine. Nothing is wrong.” Xavin continued to give Karolina a wide eyed, innocent look that she didn’t believe for a moment. She even shape shifted her eyes a little, so she would more closely resemble Molly on a subconscious level.
“Promise?” Karolina finally sighed, sounding faintly frustrated but mostly fond.
“You have my word.”
Xavin waited until Karolina was gone, then hurried to inform Chase and Victor that Karolina was starting to suspect.
