It was strange, seeing Jean-Paul so vulnerable. To be honest, Victor wasn't entirely sure what to do, besides sit there and wait and listen. He was only catching maybe one word in ten, but it wasn't that hard to get the basic outline of what had happened. That little part of the mutant that thought such thoughts said One more thing he left out of his book. Victor ignored that little part, instead making soothing noises as he held Jean-Paul. It also wasn't hard to work out why Jean-Paul was so caught up in that particular bit of his past.
He didn't bring it up until Jean-Paul had calmed down, and easily slipped away from Victor, his face as blank as a marble statue.
"Just for the record? You? You're not him." Victor crossed his legs and leaned forward. "And this is nothing like that. Okay?"
"I think it would be better if you went back to your room, Victor."
The younger mutant rolled his eyes. "Ah, but that's the thing. I really don't want to, and I don't think you want me to either."
"Oh? Did you perhaps develop telepathy, and have not bothered to tell anyone yet?" Jean-Paul asked archly, though he didn't bother to move away as Victor slithered closer. Victor reached up with his left hand, sliding his fingers through Jean-Paul's hair, then kissed him like he was half afraid the other man might shatter under even the lightest of touches.
"I want to do things to you that'll make you forget your name, let alone what that guy did to you."
