Summary: Radu is the product of generations of selective breeding.
Andromidans were, by and large, not particularly aggressive beings. But they were strong, and they were obedient. These traits were two things that the bloodthirsty Spung valued in their foot soldiers and slaves, so they bred the Andromidans for those traits.
Radu was the product of generations of selective breeding, all geared towards on thing; to fight at the command of his leader and to do it well, if not passionately.
Admittedly, Harlan (who was the default leader of the group, with Commander Goddard unconscious and Davenport missing) didn’t exactly order Radu to break both of the pirate’s hands or shatter his weapon with a quick squeeze of is deceptively delicate looking fingers, but the need for something along those lines had been clear in the human’s panicked yelp. And, loathe as Radu was to admit it, he felt some small pleasure in doing what he his genetics were coded for.
