There were half a dozen of them waiting for Teddy in the bathroom, all guys from the basketball team. All guys that Teddy had thought of as his friends. Greg wasn’t with them; he wasn’t that stupid. A dozen eyes watched him coldly, six mouths set into grim, dangerous lines.
“You’re a brave guy, Altman,” Ollie said. Teddy wasn’t surprised that Ollie was the ringleader; Ollie had all kinds of anger issues, and he’d always been bucking for Teddy’s spot on the team. “Not too bright, though. You‘re not wanted here anymore.”
Teddy smiled sweetly. “Lets just get this over with, okay? My date’s waiting for me outside.”
The lights exploded before Ollie took two steps. “Or maybe he got bored and came in,” Teddy mused in the darkness. Unsurprisingly, he was just fine with that.
