Teddy waited until he could safely escape the room, then went and hid. Xavin followed a little while afterwards, finding the half breed and giving him a wry look. “Are you alright?”
Teddy looked up, his face still in his hands. “No.”
Xavin tilted his head slightly, shifting from Skrull to human. “They like you.”
“They like what they think I am, this Savior of the Skrulls guy. I don’t think they see me.” He cast a mildly terrified glance in the direction they’d come from. “They see the myth.”
Xavin crouched in front of Teddy, putting them on eye level. “Then we must show them the reality. Unfortunately, that is very difficult to do while you are hiding in a bathroom.”
“I like it here,” Teddy said. “It’s peaceful. I think I’ll stay here for the rest of my life.”
“I do not think Billy would approve of this,” Xavin pointed out, reasonably. “It is a little small. And cold. And it smells a little.”
“Billy loves and adores me, and he’ll go for it if I tell him that’s what I want,” Teddy replied.
“He will haul you out by the ear,” Xavin corrected.
“Yeah, you’re right.”
