“Heya, Princess,” Wanda said, draping herself over the back of the couch and grinning down at Theresa. The shape shifter lowered her comic book just enough to glare at Wanda, then raised it back up with an annoyed snort.
“I thought your sister was supposed to be the irritating one,” Theresa pointed out, lowering her comic again. Wanda kept on grinning, brown curls falling in her face. Her hair was at that awkward stage between long and short where you just couldn’t do anything with it. She’d made noises about growing it out, but Theresa was pretty sure that Wanda would get irritated and whack it all off before it got long. She’d probably do it herself, resulting in the short and messy look that Theresa loved on her.
Wanda sat on the back of the couch and swung her legs over, then leaned forward again. “What, I’m not allowed to call you ‘Princess’? Personally, I kinda like the way it sounds.” She held her hands up as if framing her words. “’Princess Theresa’. You could change your code name to Princess Powerful.”
Theresa kicked at her ankles without really aiming, giving Wanda time to move her legs out of the way. She watched those long limbs move, waiting until Wanda was mostly settled before grabbing her ankle and pulling her down onto the couch. Wanda shrieked in surprise, failing to squirm away as Theresa tossed her comic away and pinned her to the couch. “I’m not changing my name,” she said, “and I’m not a princess. I’m just Theresa. Okay?”
“Yes, Your Highness,” Wanda said teasingly.
