“I have to kill you now,” Eli said calmly, clamping his hand around the back of Tommy’s neck. “Then Billy’s going to bring you back and kill you again.”
“Maybe a couple of times,” Billy confirmed. “And then I think they’re gonna want a turn.” He jerked his head towards the three girls glaring at Tommy as if seriously considering skinning him alive with dull and rusty implements.
“I know you’re supposed to be me,” the blonde in the goggles said, “but that was just skeevy and creepy and eeew.”
The brunette grasped her staff tightly, little blue sparks arcing up and down the wooden shaft, her expression dark. Beside her, the blue and white clad black girl in the domino mask was polishing her throwing stars with a hard expression.
“Yeah, y’know what?” Tommy said, grinning unrepentantly. “Totally worth it. Did you see those girls?”
“I need brain bleach,” Eli muttered. “Lots of it. But first,”
A large green hand closed around Eli’s wrist, and the alternate universe Hulkling gently pulled him away. “I already called dibbs,” she said.
