Jubilee found herself up on the roof of the cottage, watching Jono look up at the sky. “Alright,” she said slowly, “I get the feeling I’ve forgotten something.”
This is the day our powers came back, he reminded her.
“So you decided to celebrate it by brooding up on the roof and playing lighthouse?” she asked. She sat down, looking up at the night sky, trying to see what he was seeing. “At least it’s not raining.”
Jono reached over, draping an arm around his wife’s shoulders. I love you.
“I love you too, you broody bastard.”
