Title: Glacier
Author:
dorksidefiker
Fandom: Yu-Gi-Oh!
Table/Prompt: 5. Patience
Character/Pairing: Seto Kaiba, Shizuka Kawai, Mokuba Kaiba
Rating: PG
Word Count: 240
Summary: Of all the people in Yuugi Moto’s orbit, he likes Shizuka more than most.
Authors Notes/Disclaimer: I own nothing.
Seto Kaiba’s lips thinned as he peered at his brother Mokuba and Jounouchi’s younger sister through his eyelashes. They were comparing the growth of their digital pets, heads bent together as they spoke in quiet voices while Seto worked. Of all the people who had come into his brother’s orbit, and who Mokuba kept inflicting on Seto, he found Shizuka Kawai to be one of the less objectionable. She was quiet and even polite, a sharp contrast to her older brother; she didn’t feel the need to try and engage Seto in what was going on, and there were no tedious attempts to be friends.
She didn’t play Duel Monsters, or at least she’d never felt the need to challenge Seto to a game.
Mokuba enjoyed her company, and she was attractive enough. Pretty in that young and wholesome way. She was even almost… interesting.
***
“At the rate he’s going,” Mokuba muttered in an ill temper, “he’ll be old before he does anything.”
Shizuka shook her head. “Patience,” she said. “You said if I chased, he’d run. And I don’t chase.”
“Should lock you two in a closet,” Mokuba muttered.
“Katsuya would kill you.”
