Summary: In which there is banana bread.
Jessica was upset, and not paying any attention to what was going on around her, so she was actually surprised when Aunt May draped her arms around Jessica’s shoulders. “It’s alright,” the older woman whispered, pulling Jessica into a hug. Jessica stiffened at the sudden, unexpected contact, eyes going wide as she bit her lower lip. She wanted to turn, to burrow into the hug. She wanted to hold on to May and never let go.
“I’ve got banana bread,” May went on, dropping her arms, then briefly ruffling Jessica’s hair. Jessica managed a smile.
“Banana bread, huh? Sounds good.”
