“Hey, girls.” Julian gave the Cuckoos his very best, most charming smile and posed against the door. “Ready to help me save the world?” he asked.

“We see what you are planning, Julian.”

“We no longer have access to Cerebra.”

“We cannot help you.”

“What if I told you I could get you a Cerebra?” Julian asked. “Or a guy who can build you one?”

“You know where David is,” the three blondes said as one. Julian could have sworn that they were almost smiling. It was more expression than he’d seen on them in a very long time.

“He wasn’t that hard to find. And since you three futzed around with his brain, he knows how to build a Cerebra.” He grinned. “Come on girls. Lets get the band back together.

It's set during that period when the X-Men were disbanded and the adults abandoned the younger mutants while they ran off doing things like taking vacations in the Savage Land.
