“I can’t help but be surprised to find you here,” Dormagus said, the echoing silence of the church swallowing his voice. He was tempted to shout, just to see if he could get a decent echo. Reilly Tyne blew out the taper and watched the little flame dance on top of the candle he had just lit.
“Shouldn’t you spontaneously combust in here?” The lawyer asked.
“Shouldn’t you?” Dormagus retorted. “I’m not… meh. It’s complicated. What are you doing here?”
“Praying. It’s something I do… though not often enough.” Reilly looked up at the stained glass window above them as the last light of the day filtered through, staining the carpet with brilliant color.
