“Okay,” Toad admitted, “I might have gone a little overboard.”
“You repainted her room,” Lance said flatly.
“She likes black!” Toad protested.
“With car paint,” he went on in the same tone.
“It’s not like there’s a huge difference, really…”
“And you got the car paint all over her stereo, and her CDs.”
“I’ll get her new ones!” Toad promised fervently.
Part of the couch the two where hiding behind exploded. “I don’t think that would help, Toad,” Lance said dryly. “In fact, I don’t think she’s going to let you live that long.”
