Karolina closed her eyes and bit her lower lip. “I-” She stopped, then started again. “I could say that you can take care of yourself, but you’re right. I picked Nico… and I’d pick her again.”
Xavin nodded, turning away.
“You’re leaving?” Karolina asked.
“For a while. I need… space.” Xavin didn’t look back. “I will be in touch.”
