Summary: Xavin isn’t very good at taking things on faith.
Author's Notes: I own nothing.
Xavin could hear Teddy pacing in the next cell, though he was being very quiet otherwise. Normally, the Skrull had no problems with silences, but he didn’t like it when Teddy got quiet. Teddy was a talker, making the silence… unnatural.
He hadn’t said a word in almost an hour.
“Highness?”
“Don’t call me that,” Teddy sighed. Xavin smiled slightly. At least he had gotten a response.
“Ow!”
The Skrull’s head jerked sharply in the direction of Teddy’s voice. “What happened?”
“I tried the collar again.”
Xavin reached up, touching the metal band around his neck. “Ah, yes.” It seemed to hum faintly in response to the movement.
“They’re coming for us,” Teddy said confidently.
Xavin studied the seam in the ceiling where it had been welded together. “You have faith,” he said softly, thoughts drifting to Karolina.
“Billy and Karolina are burning their way in here right now, no doubt about it.”
“Yes,” Xavin agreed quietly.
