Xavin drummed her fingers on the table, watching as the second hand of the clock inched along like an undead snail. Karolina should have been back by now, but she was still out.
Somewhere.
Alone with Nico.
Officially it was a Girl’s Night Out, but it was really a Significant Other Free Evening. And apparently whatever it was they were doing was something that the hatchling was entirely too young for.
Xavin reminded herself that Karolina could take care of herself, and could be trusted, and that Nico was decidedly heterosexual. There was nothing to worry about. Nothing at all.
Somehow, that didn’t make Xavin any less worried.
