There were times when it was very hard for Xavin to watch Karolina with Nico, even though she knew that Karolina was with her, and not the young witch.
There was a part of Karolina that would always be in love with Nico, and Xavin quietly dreaded the day when Karolina would decide that what she had with Xavin wasn’t real enough. Just thinking about it made Xavin’s chest hurt, like her heart was trying to claw its way out.
She sometimes wondered if Nico ever even noticed the way Karolina sometimes looked at her.
