“I am sorry, my love,” Xavin said between chuckles, turning away, “but your accent is…” She took a deep, steadying breath. “I am very sorry. Skrullos is a very difficult language for anyone who is not able to reshape their voice box. It is very tonal… so the meaning of a word will be affected by the way you say it.”
“So… what did I just say?” Karolina asked warily, cringing just a little.
Xavin took anther breath. “It was… not something that should be repeated in front of the hatchling.”
